  • Hannukah Fest at 6:30 followed by dinner

    December 15, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
RTPV - 362 Church Rd, Putnam Valley NY 10579

Don't miss this special Hanukkah celebration at RTPV! Rabbis Levy and Altarescu along with Cantor Annice Benamy will lead us in a family friendly service at 6:30 pm, welcoming Shabbat and celebrating the Miracle of Lights through song and prayer, with a Hanukkah story for the kids.

Our celebration will continue with a vegetarian potluck dinner featuring an array of traditional and adventurous latkes among other menu items.

Adults and kids: Brush up on your Hanukkah knowledge for a few rounds of Hanukkah Jeopardy! And, start practicing your dreidel spinning to see if you can beat the best time and get into the RTPV Dreidel Spinning Hall of Fame!

    Menorah Contest
Calling all Menorah Makers 4 and up! Create a menorah and enter it into our contest. Winners will be announced after dinner. Create an Original Hanukkah menorah: Think origami, Pez, recycled material. Functionality not required, but a shamash and 8 candle holders are. The contest is open to all children ages 4 and up. There will be three age categories for judging (4-6, 7-9, and 10 and up). All menorahs should be ready for display by 6:00 PM. Each menorah should be labeled with the artist’s name.

    Latke Cook-off
Do you make the best latkes? Enter your latkes and see how you rank in the
cook-off. The cook-off is open to all adults. Bring in 20-25 Latkes (cut in half in a
disposable pan ready to heat) and a list of ingredients that will be displayed!
Latkes should be available for tasting by 6:30 pm.
